Falkland In Focus | Week 750

In this week’s programme, news from the courts, Falkland Islands Government announces plans to implement a Beneficial Ownership Register by July 2026, and we take a look at the year’s plans for Highways, FIGAS, and Workboat Services. There’s also a public consultation underway on the Wildfire Strategy 2025–2030, and the Falkland Islands Environment Trust is officially launched. Meanwhile, FIG is considering a proposal to change the use of the sheltered accommodation at Yates Place from housing for the elderly to accommodation for vulnerable young people.

After the break, we mark the 87th anniversary of the Falkland Islands Defence Force’s Mounted Unit, revisit Tyrone’s chocolate cake baking, and re-run our mock trial feature from the Day of International Criminal Justice.
