A water test result report for Stanley Harbour and Rookery Bay was released at an Environmental Committee meeting held on Monday.
The report covers monthly water test results from January to June 2021 and compares the results to UK and EU Blue Flag standard as well as the World Health Organisation.
Published by the Falkland Islands Government Environment Department, the report revealed that there is a presence of bacteria at one site at Rookery Bay and five sites around Stanley Harbour.
The bacteria present at two of the sites are harmful to human health and the natural environment, and FIG is advising that it is not safe to swim in.Â
