Changes have been made to the Household Fuel and Power Allowance scheme to make it a non-taxable benefit. At a special meeting of Executive Council on the 1^st December the change was made meaning that eligible households will receive the full £140 allowance tax free. The deadline for applications to receive the full six months of support has also been extended until the 31^st December with payments to be backdated for the first month.
