Goose Green Liberation Day Marked

The 29th May marked the 41st anniversary of the liberation of Goose Green. During the 1982 conflict Falkland Islanders were held prisoner in the Goose Green Community Hall for almost seven weeks by occupying Argentine forces.

The forces of 2 para arrived on the 28th May and the people of Goose Green were liberated on the 29th. A service of commemoration was held at the 2 para monument on Darwin Hill to mark the occasion.
