At 9 o’clock in the evening of 14th June 1982, the commander of the Argentine garrison in Stanley, General Menendez, surrendered to Major General Jeremy Moore.
This ended the 74 day occupation of the Falkland Islands by Argentina.
This year, marked the 42nd anniversary of the Falklands conflict and the traditional Liberation Day commemorations and parade took place on Friday to mark the event.
