In the wake of recent wild fires, two individuals from the UK department of environment, food and rural affairs have been in the Falklands providing members of the Fire and rescue service with sessions focusing on methods of fighting wildfires. Discussions have been had within FIG as to what can be done moving forward to better prepare for unexpected fires in the future and whether new policy needs to be implemented.
