World Wetlands Day was recognised globally on Wednesday this week, and in the Falklands a Wetlands Symposium was held by the South Atlantic Environmental Research Institute (SAERI). Wetlands are crucial habitats in the Falkland Islands, but they are at risk due to drying lands.

The Wetlands Symposium aimed to engage with the local community and help them understand why the wetlands are risk, and how they can be properly managed to counter the drying of the Falklands.
