Summary Court | Mr Alfonso Hobman

Mr Alfonso Hobman appeared in front of the Justices of the Peace charged with one offence of drink driving, to which he pleaded guilty. The Justices of the Peace heard how on the 12th December 2021 a resident of Jeremy Moore Avenue heard a noise and upon investigation witnessed Mr Hobman reverse into some wheelie bins in a small car park. He was slumped over his steering wheel.

Mr Hobman was taken to hospital in an ambulance due to his level of intoxication. Blood samples showed that his blood alcohol level was 446 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood – the legal limit in the UK is 80 micrograms in 100 millilitres.

Mr Hobman, who was unrepresented, apologised to the court.

The case has been adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be compiled. Mr Hobman has been released on unconditional bail, but was given an interim disqualification from driving until the sentencing.
