In the Summary Court on the 12th January Luke Anthony Clarke was charged with one offence of driving without due care and attention. He pleaded guilty to this offence.
The bench heard how on the 8th August 2021 he reversed into a tight parking spot and scraped the side of the car next to him before driving away, leaving the driver who was in the car at the time “feeling scared.”
Mr Clarke said he was unaware he hit the other car and once he found out he spoke to the car owner and offered to pay damages. He accepted that his driving had fallen below accepted standards.
The Justices were also told that Mr Clarke had no relevant convictions and accepted responsibility for the incident.
Justices of the Peace gave Mr Clarke a £150 fine, ordered him to pay £150 costs and added compensation of £300 for damages to the other vehicle.
