World Albatross Day 2021

The Falkland Islands is home to 70% of the world’s population of black browed albatross.

This migratory bird arrives in the islands to breed in September and leaves around the end of April, however it can be seen offshore throughout the year in Falklands waters.

World Albatross Day this year has the theme of Ensuring Albatross-Friendly Fisheries.

Katharyn spoke to Amanda Kuepfer who works closely on this subject.
