With the 75th anniversary of Falkland Islands Government Air Service (FIGAS) on the 19th December, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to hear why the treasured red planes a held in such high esteem among the Falklands community.
From the audacious Auster, to the beloved Beaver and the iconic Islander, we take a look back at some of your personal stories and poignant memories of flying across the Islands with the service.
Through FIGAS employees past and present, and those lucky enough to have first hand experience of flying on the planes, we hear what FIGAS truly means to the Islands and how it has touched the hearts of everyone who has had the opportunity to fly with them.
