October the 4th marks the date when the first Britten-Norman Islander aircraft arrived in the Falkland Islands, way back in 1979.
The Islander, known as Victor Yankee, was the latest in a long line of plane models used by the Falkland Islands Government Air Service, and the model has gone on to become an icon of the Falklands.
