Since the Airbridge went back to using Ascension Island as a refuelling stop earlier this year, there have been calls to allow passengers to travel onwards to St Helena. Currently to fly to St Helena from the Falklands you would have to travel to the UK and through South Africa. MLA John Birmingham has told FITV that MLAs are ‘confident’ work on this is progressing.
