A written summary provided by the candidate outlining their background, experience and priorities.
Born in Punta Arenas to a Falkland Island mother and Chilean father; I consider myself blessed that the Islands have been my home since I was three. I’m 53 and mother of two; my working life involved time at Penguin News, the public service and running the museum for 14 years. I have served as an MLA for eith years and am offering myself again for Stanley.
If we are to address the challenges which many currently face we must maintain a positive approach – a multitude of opportunities are available, and if we have the courage and commitment to work together, innovate and develop we can build a sustainable, successful, inclusive and happy future for all.
Many major decisions have been made, including on critical national infrastructure – essential to our economy and community. Had these started decades ago, we would not be concurrently delivering multiple once-in-a-lifetime projects. The finance decision was challenging, but necessary to allow long-overdue, essential progress.
Careful financial management and fully-considered choices lie ahead; we must remain ambitious and not retreat into policies which could cause community hardship and economic stagnation. Island-wide progress should continue – balancing steady fiscal control with supporting sustainable growth, while addressing cost of living pressures.
Our People: Protecting our much-loved freedoms, values and quality of life. Delivering strong public services including education and health, ensuring wellbeing, security and opportunities for all. Taking a whole-community approach for high standards of living Island-wide, with support available where needed. Cost of living pressures must not be unnecessarily worsened by FIG decisions.
I believe passionately in our people, our values and working in partnership – with positivity and ambition – for a bright and successful future. I hope you do too.

The first 250 words of the candidate’s manifesto.
Born in Punta Arenas to a Falkland Island mother and Chilean father, I have lived in the Islands since I was three years old, experiencing first-hand the incredible change and progress of the last four decades. I consider myself blessed to have spent my life in this wonderful little country that has given me so much, and have been privileged to give back by serving our community in the last two Assemblies – eight years which have taught me a great deal, although I believe there is always more to learn.
I am a very ordinary 53-year-old and have worked hard to get where I am in life – a mother of two, home-owner, with a varied career (prior to the Assembly I was fortunate enough to run the museum for 14 years), but can claim no title, particular expertise nor wealth. I do not take myself too seriously, but I do take my work extremely seriously and am absolutely committed to working hard and doing my best for the Falklands. Representing our community has been the privilege of my life and I would welcome the opportunity to continue that service, with dedication, integrity, honesty and compassion.
Overview
The next four years will bring both challenges and significant opportunities for our community.
The decision to borrow to fund the capital programme was not taken lightly. It is a substantial commitment, and without it we could not address the need to replace failing infrastructure which is so critical to our future. The easiest…
