A 20ft sailboat with no motor arrived in Stanley Harbour last weekend, piloted by Greg Were.
The South African set out from Falmouth in 2024 aiming to make his yacht – a modified Flicka 20 – the smallest vessel to circumnavigate the world solo, non-stop and unassisted.
While damage off South Africa forced him to abandon this record he continues on the solo trip – crossing the Indian and Pacific Oceans and passing through the Magellan strait – and plans for the Falklands to be his final stop before returning to the UK.
