The Falkland Islands Government says it will implement a Beneficial Ownership Register by July 2026. It comes after the UK Government stated its intention to end illicit finance and corruption, both at home and across the Overseas Territories. The Register will aim to make clear to the public the ownership structures of different businesses on the Islands and who benefits when contracts are awarded to them.
