After a third consecutive year of disruption for the second Loligo season, calls for research into why problems are occurring are growing among producers. Data presented to the Fisheries Committee showed the total catch after 26 days of the current season to be far below median. Other topics of discussion during the meeting included the Illex fishery being brought under the ITQ system.
