Celebrations were held across the UK and the commonwealth to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Victory in Europe day celebrates the end of World War 2, marking the day when the allied forces formally accepted Germany’s unconditional surrender on Tuesday the 8th of May 1945. The Falkland Islands Defence Force held a celebration at the Historic Dockyard Museum to remember and honour those who served during the Second World War, including the brave men and women from the Falklands who contributed to the allied war effort.
