FITV has launched a series of candidate interviews as part of its coverage of the General Election 2025.
The interviews give voters the opportunity to hear directly from candidates standing in each constituency. All participants were asked the same set of core questions, alongside two manifesto-specific questions.
The core questions were made available to candidates in advance of filming, while the manifesto-specific questions were not.
All candidates standing in the election were offered the same opportunity to take part. Each extended interview is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.
Candidates were also invited to take part in a separate “Quick Fire” interview, in which they were asked the same set of ten short questions covering a broad range of topics. Responses in the Quick Fire interviews were limited to 30 seconds per question, with candidates asked to speak directly to camera.
FITV did not make any request regarding the use of notes during filming, with this left to each candidate’s discretion.
The interview series aims to provide clear and accessible information to support informed voting ahead of the General Election.
Viewers can watch the interviews by visiting the FITV General Election Hub and selecting individual candidate profiles.
