The Falkland Islands community came together on 8 December to mark Battle Day, the anniversary of the 1914 Battle of the Falkland Islands, a naval conflict fought during the First World War.

A two-minute silence was held and wreaths laid by representatives of the Admiral Sturdee’s Own scout group, named after the British commander during the battle. 2025 marks 100 years since his death.
