The 18th of September marks Chilean Independence Day.
Whilst Chile didn’t gain full independence until February 12th 1818, this day commemorates the proclamation of the first governing body of 1810 and the beginning of the independence journey.
Chileans make up around 4-6% of the Falklands population and so a reception was held at Government House in their honour.
