Falkland Islands Development Corporation are exploring the potential introduction of a second shipping link with South America.

Currently, only one shipping link between the Falklands and Uruguay exists, but a connection with Chile was previously in operation.

The idea was included in the latest FIDC Board meeting and has received widespread support.
