Gold exploration returns to the Falkland Islands

After 17 years the hunt for gold has returned to the Falklands. Gold was first discovered in the Islands in 1999 by a team of geologists who initially started the exploration for diamonds but ended up finding up to 400 grains of gold. Drilling took place between 2005 and 2006 with the team drilling holes and collecting significant amounts of data, however due to various factors, it was considered not financially feasible to continue. But now David Reeves, the man who first discovered gold has returned to continue his exploration.
