Hilary Theaker, the vine keeper at Hampton Court in the UK, was invited to visit the Falkland islands to advise on the famous grape vine at government house. The grape vine has a claim to be one of the southernmost in the world, and has been growing in the government house conservatory for around 60 years. But with restoration work on the horizon the Falkland Islands Government brought her in to suggest ways to protect the vine during building work, and ensure it thrives long into the future.
