The Legislative Assembly has officially been dissolved ahead of the upcoming General Election.

The Governor of the Falkland Islands, His Excellency Colin Martin-Reynolds CMG, signed the dissolution paper at Government House on 31 October, alongside Chief Executive of the Falkland Islands Government Andrea Clausen.

This brings to a close the four-year term of the eight elected Members who have served since 2021.

During the dissolution period, the Falkland Islands Government continues to operate under caretaker arrangements until a new Assembly is elected.

Candidates will have until 4pm on 21 November to register their applications, with mobile polling taking place in Camp on 10 December and Polling Day in Stanley on 11 December.

Nomination papers can be collected from the Registrar General’s office in Town Hall.
