New Movement strives for Self-governing Status for Falkland Islands

A new group, ‘British Suffix for British Falkland Islands’ is working to raise awareness about what it has called “unacceptable use” of the ‘Las Malvinas’ suffix on world maps in English-speaking countries.

The group, which describes itself as a “non-political movement”, is also seeking to get the Falklands officially recognised as a self-governing territory by the United Nations. We spoke with 1982 veteran and Founder of the movement, Tony Powell.
