RRS James Clark Ross says farewell to The Falkland Islands

After 30 years with the British Antarctic Survey the RRS James Clark Ross left the Falkland Islands for the final time.

The research vessel had reached the end of her five and a half month mission to resupply Antarctic bases on her final mission with BAS.

She will be sold on return to the UK and will be replaced by the RRS Sir David Attenborough – the new BAS research vessel.
