An island-wide network outage over the weekend happened due to a partial equipment failure according to a statement released by Sure South Atlantic Ltd. online on Tuesday.

Sure’s internet, 4G and some phone services were affected for several hours starting in the early hours on Saturday 18th March.

In an announcement on Sure’s Facebook page it was explained that the engineering team have identified the kit that failed and are implementing network design changes to protect the service.

It has been announced that maintenance work will take place on the network but planned outages will be publicised.
