The Stanley to Mount Pleasant road has had rolling closures for several days this week to allow the delivery of huge wind turbine parts from Mare Harbour to Sand Bay.

The new Enercon E-70 turbines are significantly larger than Sand Bay’s current E-33s and can generate roughly 7 times more power at peak capacity.

The aim is to have everything on site ready for assembly early next year.
