Capitalising off of the abundant kelp forests across the Falkland Islands has been discussed now for over a century. Over the years, kelp has been reviewed frequently in the Falklands for its financial potential and uses in agricultural practices. Now, with a vast array of uses for kelp and its potential as an instrument in climate change mitigation, the industry has never been bigger. So, it begs the question if now is finally the time for the Falkland Islands to stake its claim in the global kelp industry.
