

As one of the windiest places in the world, the Falkland Islands has a high potential for capitalising on wind energy. There are multiple wind farms already operational on the islands, generating a large percentage of the islands energy, as well as a huge project to expand these farms on the horizon. Since the Falklands has national and international commitments to achieving 100% renewable energy usage by 2045, expanding the renewable energy contribution is vital. But, given the difficulties faced as a result of a backlog of projects to improve the power and electrical facilities in the Falklands, will this goal be met?
