Members of the Legislative Assembly have voted no on a clause that would have seen additional payment be granted to members of the Executive Council & the Chair of the Assembly. The clause which was part of the Benefits & Remuneration Bill would have issued an additional payment equivalent to one day’s salary per month to the members. This is currently capped at £202. The debate began after the reading of the bill when MLA Barkman raised her concerns around the clause.
