Atlantic Conveyor Memorial Service

A service and act of remembrance took place at the Atlantic Conveyor memorial at midday on Wednesday.

The Atlantic Conveyor was hit by 2 Exocet missiles on 25th May 1982, with the loss of 12 men on board, including the ship’s master, Captain Ian North. Wreaths were laid by the deputy governor Dave Morgan, MLA Roger Spink and representatives from the Royal British Legion.
