Amendments to the Avian Influenza Tourism Support Scheme were discussed during the latest Executive Council meeting. Some changes were also implemented to the emergency measures for outbreaks of infectious diseases. The operating budget for the Avian Influenza Tourism Support Scheme has been increased by 25% since last year. The initial budget for tourism industry support in the event of bird flu is £127,000, however the budget will be reassessed over the term of the scheme.
