Cecil Alexander took Canada’s Ryan Bester to a deciding tie-break as he continued the Falkland Islands’ Commonwealth Games campaign in Glasgow.
Competing in the Men’s Singles sectional stage at the SEC, Alexander narrowly lost the opening set 5–4 before responding with a 7–6 victory in the second.
The result forced the match into a tie-break, where Bester secured a 3–0 win to take the contest.
The closely fought match was Alexander’s fourth fixture of the sectional stage and followed his victory over Kenya the previous day.
