Falkland Islands Filipino Community Raises Money for Victims of Typhoon Rai

A lunch buffet and raffle hosted by the Falkland Islands Filipino community has successfully raised over a thousand pounds to support victims of Typhoon Rai, known as Odette in the Philippines, a storm that recently devastated the Philippines. The typhoon has left many in the country without access to food and water.

In response, the Filipino community held a raffle during the community Christmas party on 25th December, as well as a “Lunch Buffet for our Cause” on 31st December. Funds totaled £1,655, which was then given to three different areas of the Philippines affected by the typhoon.
