England’s World Cup dream came to an end on Wednesday evening, following defeat to Argentina in the semi-finals.

With much of the Falkland Islands public throwing its support behind England throughout the tournament, the mood at the final whistle was understandably despondent.

However, it was what happened on the pitch afterwards that attracted worldwide attention.
