The Fisheries Department has provided an update on a series of Fisheries Management Plans, set to come into effect over the next few years.

During last week’s Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, the Department said the plans would be made publicly available and would set out how the Government wants each fishery to operate.

They will also identify gaps in regulation, establish accountability and remain flexible. Each plan will be overseen by a dedicated working group.
