Issues flagged after inspection of new Fisheries Patrol Vessel

An inspection of the new Fisheries Protection Vessel, Lilibet has revealed some issues.

The UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency instructed the Falkland Islands Maritime Authority to carry out the flag state inspection where the issues were uncovered.

The ship arrived in the Falklands last Saturday, around 2 and a half months later than planned due to issues relating to a bad load of fuel.

The arrival programme of training with the ship is carrying on as planned while work to resolve the issues continue.
