Right to buy scheme is waiting on the MLAs policy directions

A Right to Buy scheme for government housing has been discussed during the latest Legislative Assembly. The scheme, targeting low income tenants, is under development and aims to allow eligible sitting tenants to buy certain government properties at a discounted price. Eligibility and Discount mechanisms were presented to MLAs in early November, when it became clear that several issues require policy direction. Several members of the Legislative Assembly voiced that the issue has been ongoing for a long time and the united decision need to be made to finalise the policy.
