The Falklands explorer Mensun Bound was presented with the prestigious Gold Medal by the Elisha Kent Kane Historical Society.

The award recognises his efforts to find Sir Ernest Shackleton’s lost ship, the Endurance, which ended in success when the wreck was located in March 2022.

He was honoured during a recent event in Manhattan and joins a long list of explorers distinguished by the Medal.
