In the run up to the 19th NatWest International Island Games Guernsey 2023, we have been joining some of Team Falkland Islands in their training sessions for the competition.

Bowls is one of the newer clubs to hit the Falklands, and have never competed at an Island Games before. The Falkland Islands Bowls Association has previously sent players to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022 and various international bowls championships overseas.

Although the team are quickly racking up competition experience, it would seem as though newbie bowler Katharyn really does have a stroke of beginners luck when she went to learn how to play the sport!
