During the last week’s legislative assembly sitting, MLA Gavin Short acknowledged that further work needs to be done to understand the reasons for poverty in the Islands.

Currently, the Policy Department is reviewing the survey methods used to examine the living wage and household expenditure. This work will give a better insight into how government can provide assistance to low-income households.
