The public consultation on whether open pen salmon farming should be introduced in the Falklands is now underway and has come under scrutiny at a recent public meeting.

Some attendees described the survey as complicated, confusing, and biased towards the industry, leaving the survey open to external abuse.

Salmon Free Falklands called for a binding referendum on the issue.

However, Members of the Legislative Assembly said they did not believe a referendum was the appropriate way forward.
