MLAs were faced with questions from the community on Monday after a decision to only increase FIG salaries by 3% was challenged at a public meeting. 

The government’s decision to grant a £1500 pay award to FIG employees within salary bands D to I; whilst excluding workers in bands A to C was also brought forward. 

The discussion comes amid concerns around the increasing cost of living and available support for those on low to middle incomes.
