After being convicted of “Sexual Assault” following a one day trial ending on the 21st of July of this year, Mr. Neville Hayward was sentenced in the Summary Court on Wednesday the 18th of August.

Mr. Hayward had been found guilty of one count of “sexually touching someone without consent”, relating to an incident taking place at the Rose Bar on the 20th of March 2021. 

The Court heard from a witness statement from the complainant about the impact it had had on them, causing a loss of sleep, access to counselling services and ultimately giving up their day job. 

The Justices of the Peace sentenced Mr. Hayward to a Supervision Requirement for 6 months, and was ordered to pay £500 in compensation and £1100 in court costs.
